UFC133 will be hosted at the Well Fargo Centre in Philadelphia this Saturday. We’ve been waiting several weeks for the next UFC pay-per-view event, but it’s now only about a week away. If you’ve been following the UFC133 fight card you’ll know that lots of fights have to be changed due to injuries. The UFC133 Main Event even had to be changed due to an injury and many people are saying that this card has been cursed.
UFC133 Main Event – Tito Ortiz +330 vs. Rashad Evans -410
Rashad Evans was supposed to fight Phil Davis, but due to an injury to Davis, Evans will be fighting Tito Ortiz. Tito is looking to make a legitimate comeback in the light heavyweight division after beating Ryan Bader in the 1st round by submission at the beginning of July 2011. These two guys fought in the past and the fight actually ended up in a draw, but this time around I’m sure Evans will look for the victory quickly.

Evans might not want to fight Ortiz, but if he loses this fight it’s going to hurt his position in the division, so he needs to make sure he comes out focused and ready to fight. Evans is the better all-around MMA fighter and Ortiz may only have the advantage in the wrestling department. I like Evans, but won’t be betting on him at -410 after witnessing what happened to Bader against Ortiz last month.
UFC133 Main Card – Yoshihiro Akiyama +250 vs. Vitor Belfort -300
This is another close fight that I most likely won’t be betting on this weekend due to the odds. If anything, I might consider betting on Akiyama if the odds continue to go up in his favour. Akiyama is being written off by most casual MMA fans, but he’s got lots of experience and could end up pulling off an upset in this fight. Vitor Belfort has been fighting professionally for about 15 years now, but he hasn’t fought that much lately. Yoshihiro is coming into the fight with a 2-fight losing streak while Belfort is coming into the fight with a 1-fight losing streak, so at least one of these guys will get back on track at UFC133.
» UFC133 Main Card – Dennis Hallman -125 vs. Brian Ebersole +105
Two MMA vets will be meeting on the main card at UFC133 and the odds have been swinging like crazy. Ebersole opened as a big favourite, but he’s now an underdog. Lots of sharps must have been betting Hallman since the odds were released, which leads me to believe that the smart money is on Dennis. It sucks that the odds are -125 now considering they were in the +160 range when opening, but I can’t bet on Ebersole after seeing the odds bet down so much in this fight.
» UFC133 Main Card – Mike Pyle +240 vs. Rory MacDonald -280
Mike Pyle has made it very clear that he doesn’t think he should be used as a stepping stone for younger talent. He beat-up a young John Hathaway at UFC120 and he’ll be fighting up and comer Rory MacDonald this weekend. Pyle thinks he’s going to knockout MacDonald and I’m going to bet that he does as well. Pyle is much older, but way more experienced and I think he’s tired of being used as a stepping stone and therefore will be pumped up for this bout.
Jorge Rivera and Costantinos Philippou will also be meeting on the UFC133 main card this weekend, but there are no odds released on these two fighters yet. Rivera has more experience and I think he’ll win this fight. Philippou has only fought in the UFC once and lost against Nick Catone in February of this year and I don’t think he’s ready for Rivera yet.
